Vantrix Live Media Processing Powers Waskul.TV at SIGGRAPH 2015

By Jeanette Mifsud - August 12,2015

This week we’re live at SIGGRAPH 2015 in Los Angeles meeting with customers and industry partners, and viewing a showcase of the latest in computer graphics and animation. We’re proud to be part of the media processing solution used by Waskul.TV to stream live interviews from the event to a worldwide audience.

StudioXperience

Waskul.TV is showcasing several industry-leading technologies in their StudioXperience Broadcast Studio on location at SIGGRAPH. Here’s a quick synopsis of some of the elements of the workflow being used to power live streaming from the event:

  • NewTek TriCaster™ is the power behind the multi-camera live production for the StudioXperience, where editors create, manage and distribute content coming from six 4K camera feeds.
  • Zixi is providing a content contribution link using Zixi’s network aware distance agnostic video delivery over IP protocol, from the StudioXperience to Vantrix Media Platform.
  • HP® Moonshot system is being used to provide ultra-high-density media processing, and powered by Intel® Xeon® E3 processors.
  • Vantrix Media Platform is running as a virtualized application on the HP Moonshot server to provide live linear just-in-time media processing to users’ PCs and mobile devices, and delivery to a global CDN.

Vantrix was asked to provide media processing horsepower for live streaming from SIGGRAPH after Steve Waskul’s recent interview with our CEO, Jean Mayrand and HP’s Dr. Tom Bradicich at the NAB show. Steve was so impressed by the ultra-high-density media processing capabilities of the Vantrix Media Platform running on HP Moonshot servers, that he asked Vantrix to be part of the Waskul.TV StudioXperience for SIGGRAPH.
