On February 22nd at IBM Interconnect, IBM’s premiere cloud and mobile conference, our service portfolio is making a considerable leap forward, showcasing Vantrix Cloud 360 : a real-time, 360° Virtual Reality platform.
Our showcase features live immersive 360° streaming video from broadcast quality cameras, videoconferencing and wearables along with a how-to deployment in IBM Bluemix.
A turnkey solution for VR in full 360
The Vantrix Cloud 360 solution allows for true 360 VR, without the loss of quality caused by video stitching, which can degrade the viewing experience. It is an efficient, low-cost, carrier-grade solution that makes it easy to add real-time VR to a broadcast, enabling live streaming from any camera to any device (including VR headsets), via the cloud.
Possibilities for a variety of markets
Although VR is typically the domain of entertainment, gaming and broadcast, Vantrix Cloud 360 is aiming to raise the bar in several industries. Major sports events, of course, but also in the security/surveillance industry, through wearables (body cams), drones and static cameras. And last but not least, for the corporate world, as a game changer for videoconferencing.
Available in Bluemix
Vantrix Cloud 360 is built on SoftLayer (an IBM Company) and comes in multiple configurations. “Our main driver for selecting SoftLayer infrastructure services from IBM was global reach, being able to deliver a packet or a video element with low latency across the world, as well as sales reach and support,” says CEO Jean Mayrand.
For a demo of Vantrix Cloud 360, come meet the Vantrix team at booth 865 at IBM InterConnect in Las Vegas, from Feb. 21st to 25th 2016.
